    rpm reduction see dealer

I have 03 SAN that goes into limp mode showing the rpm reduction warning when the tach is only reading about 2500 rpm. The tach seems to be reading correctly judging from the engine noise. I recently replaced the alternator. I also had to disconnect the perfect pass because the cable between the perfect pass unit and the throttle cable broke. I did this by disconnecting the fuse under the drivers console. I don't know if either of these things could contribute to the warning signal. What could be the problem?

    Limp Mode Causes

As far as I know there are only 3 things that puts the boat into limo mode. 1. Low oil pressure caused by a leak, too little oil in the boat, or a bad sensor. 2 High temperature caused by a failed impeller, stuck thermostat, or a bad sensor, an air leak in the strainer. Engine knock caused by bad gas, an insulated knock sensor in the block, or a faulty sensor. check all three. Good Luck
