I'm missing a gauge on my 2001 Air Nautique.

I bought a used 2001 Air Nautique in pristine condition. I'm just working out the bugs. It was a repo, so I don't have contact with the original owner.

It is missing a gauge on the small panel below the throttle control. I have both ballast fill gauges, but it's missing the third gauge. Something was there (not just filled with a knock out plug) because I can see a little marring around the opening and a small screw hole on the upper right of the opening.

I have water/air and temp gauges and a depth finder on the dash panel. I don't have a clue of what it was.

I can't find it anywhere in the manual, but there is a factory pic from the manual (see below).



The missing gauge is the far lower right gauge.

Don't you have a bigger picture?

The small gauges in 2001 where:
Voltage, oil pressure, fuel, engine temp, air/water temp, depth, left ballast, right ballast, stereo remote, clock, perfect pass cruise remote.

You can fill in what you want.

That the only pic i have right now (from the manual)..the boat is in storage, but i get it tomorrow.

It was also missing the stereo, so I was already guessing it was stereo related. But it's hard to imagine the logic of mounting a stereo remote directly below the stereo.

Maybe a clock or a perfect pass remote.

I dont think the 01 cam with a clock and there is not a pp remote that I am aware of. I have a 02 SAN and that is where one of the stereo remotes is located so that would be where i would be looking first

Stereo remote. I had a Clarion there and replaced it with a Sony when I upgraded my deck. I actually plan on swapping the remote with the air/water temp gauge in the dash (far-right pod) because having the remote in that spot is not the most user-friendly.

I agree with h20time. It is actually a PITA to have the stereo remote there. For the most part I am busy trying to drive, pull boarders, not worry about the music (I would prefer no music but my gf likes it). Second, I can just use the head unit next to the shifter if I want to change something. I think this winter I am going to move the remote to an area where a passenger can control the music and replace it with a clock etc.

thanks for all the input... After reading your replies, I'd put money on a stereo remote. Again... I just don't see the point since its in a more awkward spot than the actual stereo control. (Unless it was in a weatherproof cover that was difficult to open)

Since we're on the subject of stereo, I just installed a new Kenwood Marine KMR-700U stereo. It does not have a CD player, rather the face opens up and it holds an Ipod/MP3 inside. The real plus for me... It also has a USP connection inside and I can just hook up a little memory stick and play from that. I just bought it online from Sonic Electronix for $219 and got it the next day.

It is possible to put a Perfect Pass module there like I mentioned before. You have a small Perfect Pass Cruise module. No display on it, just buttons.

You right about the strange place. I would put the depth finder and air/water gauge below and the stereo remote + perfect pass up at the dashboard.

You can get a clock matching the other gauges on a 2001 AND also on a 2002 (we both had it before, with and without a aluminium bezel).
