I have been out of town for two weeks and took my boat out for the first time yesterday. I could not get the boat to start. It would start and turn over, but immediately cut out as if the boat's lanyard was not in place or the boat was in gear. I had had this happen before due to a connection with the lanyard, so the first thing I did was check the lanyard connection and make sure the boat was in neutral after a few tries. Afterwards, the boat would not longer turn over. Having been out of town my next thought was that the battery was low and it was in fact a little under 12v which is about normal on my boat. I pulled it out of the water and jumped it and restored the battery back to a normal level (slightly higher). After trying it again, I had the same result.
Any suggestions? I can't imagine it is a big issue as the boat was recently in for its annual service. Any help would be much appreciated because I'd like to use it this weekend.
