what all fluids are there in an ex330 closed cooled? oil, coolant, and transmission? if i have a walters v-drive is that my transmission that takes sae 30? i'm confused on whether there's the walters and pcm tranny. i've always had the dealers do the changing.

The closed cooling is only on the engine. There is a large black cylinder behind the rear seat. That is the heat exchanger. Raw water is circulated inside of the cylinder and used to cool the antifreeze. Antifreeze is circulated throughout your motor (with the exception of the exhaust, which is still raw water cooled)
The trans and v-drive are separate components. The trans is built by PCM and uses Dex III (or Dex/Merc) transmission fluid.
The SAE 30 is used in the Walters V-drive. The v-drive is the unit that that propeller shaft comes out of

Not that I am going to do this, but I have always wondered if you can change a open cooling system to a closed system with an aftermarket set up?Eric, Phoenix AZ

yes you can add a closed system. from what i understand it's not fully closed though, even though the new coastal editions are fully closed. i have a closed system on my boat w/ a flush mounted on the transom along with a strainer. it's not a cheap add on, but is worth it if you need it. the 6.0L engines come closed cooled.
