PCM 6.0L vs 5.7L Question

Does PCM build the 6.0L engine without the 1.23:1 transmission? i.e. Can this engine come with a 1:1 transmission? I have the 6.0L in my truck and love it but I think it would be too beefy of an engine with the 1.23:1 transmission.

If a boat has the 6.0L engine is a different(softer) prop used so that the pull feels the same as the 5.7L with the 1.23:1 transmission?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of each?

Does anyone know the cost difference between the two engines?

Everything is the same between the two different engines in the boat except that you have the biggest baddest motor out there and your wallet is about 4K emptier.

The six liter will suck more gas although it still runs on 87 octane. To my knowledge, it is only available with the power plus tranny. I have skied both and can't feel the difference when I ski behind it. The prop is a different size and you will have more power out of the hole with the zr6

I wouldn't say its a different prop size, the only difference I was told was that there is a little "cup" on the end of the prop, but as far as I know the size is the same. That right skinautique?

I have had one Excaliber 5.7 and three 6 liters in 196's. I can't feel any difference on the slalom pull, not "hard" or "harsh" at all. The 6 liter is much stronger out of the hole. (The 5.7 is very strong, the 6 liter is just much stronger) They use the same prop on both, Acme 12.5x15.5, but the 6 liter gets a little more cup. the cup is worth about a 150 rpm drop (I know this from running both cup's on my 6 liter, didn't realize ther there was a different cup until I put my spare I bought for the5.7 on my 6 liter and it started bumping the rev limiter, had to have Acme add some cup). The 5.7 liter would hit around 4900 rpm, the same prop on the 6 liter would spin over 5300 (rev limiter stops it at 5300). The correct prop on the 6 liter turns around 5275, very consistent on all three boats. There is no real need for the 6 liter, I just can't turn down more horsepower that comes without any weight penalty.

Sorry for the misleading info. The 196 runs the same size prop with either engine but the 210 runs a different size prop depending on the engine choice.
