    Perfect Pass PrecisionStar

Anybody using the PrecisionStar module from Perfect Pass? I want the reliability of GPS but I don't need, nor really have the money to throw down on a full Stargazer setup. I think it's fairly new and I haven't been able to find any opinions on it and wondered if any of you had checked one out or bought one.

I think Livorsi used to make a ski boat GPS analog speedo if you want something to compare it to. One thought, if you ever run in river current, GPS will not give you accurate speed over water.

Obviously, it's not speed control and if you were ever to decide to upgrade to PP, this display will not integrate.

I think it's pretty cool for what it is, but I'm not sure, were I in your shoes, that I wouldn't take that $300--400 and save it to later put toward a Perfect Pass system.

You may be able to find a used GPS system off of ski-it-again.com? Depending on the year of your boat, PP systems are plug and play. I've purchased two systems off that site and saved a ton of money.

I would go with a used system. Even a paddle wheel setup. I went the used paddle wheel route and got a system in for $400 inclusive of the paddle wheel and the necessary supplies.

I did need to invest the elbow grease, but I actually enjoyed it!

I have the PrecisionStar on my boat and love it! It matches almost exactly what the water speedo reads, no current on this water. I removed one of the factory speedos and installed it myself, very easy to do. If you have any other questions, please ask.
