    Swim platform center bracket

So... my swim platform center bracket snapped at the 90 degree bend some time ago. I pulled it and took off my Fresh Air Exhaust (which was then only hanging on by a pipe clamp on the exhaust baffle). I have tried to find a replacement, but my dealer just informed me that my style (2 big bolt holes, 1 small screw hole) is no longer produced. I have a 2-hole style, but it looks like it is (a) weaker than the original and (b) would sit about 1/4" higher than the original, which would put all the stress on the center bracket and probably throw-off my pin alignment on the side brackets. If anyone has a line on an old CC junker being sold for parts that has a 3-hole center swim platform bracket, I'd love to get their contact info. Thanks in advance.

Hi Chexi, did you ever get a replacement for your centre support? My swim platform got ripped off my boat in a storm (I had to leave it in the water because the trailer was getting serviced - thankfully the only damaged was the swimplatform) and the center support got bent. It sounds like it is the same as yours, with 2 large bolt holes and one smaller screw hole. Any advice gratefully received.

    Thanks,

      Hello Guy's
I'm pretty sure i tossed mine out when i made a custom one for mine to hold up swim deck and surf pipe. It's really a piece of cake to make one. Just 2 plates welded together at 90 degrees and some holes drilled in them. Let me know if you want pics ?

Peter, you can make one easily. I'm going from memory, but can measure for you if you need, let me know.
Pick up a short piece of 90 deg aluminum angel, 1/4" thick. 3" legs should work. Cut to about 3" long. Then the hard part, figure out the place for the two large mounting bolts. The small one isn't needed.

Thanks for the responses guys, in the end a friend was able to bend my old bracket back to the right shape, apparently it took a bit of heating to do it.

Also, do you guys get email alerts when someone replies to a thread you posted on?? I had no idea you guys had replied - I guess I'll check back here in 6 months time to see your answers!!
