Heater not working / not hot

My SAN has the factory 3 spead heater fitted. I haven't owened it long & I'm still working out how things work.

The fans work fine, but the air does not blow hot, or even warm.?

Only one of the fans has tubing conected to it, the other doesn't. The hoses are connected at the block OK.

Where should I start to look for problems.? is there an islolation valve somewhere.? The core diesn't seem to leak at all, so I assume that is OK.

Could it just be the hoses or something else.?

    Any help would be appreciated.

You didn't say what year boat it was. Mine has a shut-off valve mounted to the engine that one of the hoses attaches to, you may want to see if yours has a shut-off valve somewhere and then make sure it is open. After that my first thought would be the impeller. Do you know what temperature your motor is running at and possibly the water temperature of your body of water?

The coil may be airlocked or some other kind of blockage. Try taking the hoses off at the engine and run your garden hose through it to see if you can get out the blockage. You may need to push water the opposite direction if there is some trash blocking it.

Only other reason I can think of would be a shutoff valve or the hose pinched or kinked somewhere.

It's a really simple design Chopper. If water is running through the hose/core/hose, it will be hot. Just going to have to trace the lines for a shut off valve, kink in the hose, or blockage inside the system. BKH

          Chopper,

They do get plugged with crap over the years. I am a Heatercraft dealer, just the replacement cores are pretty cheap. PM me if interested.

I've heard that in the 03 SAN, there were some issues with hoses getting pinched when the top deck and hull were connected. I have the same issue with my 03 SAN, so I removed both hoses from the block and tried to blow through each one. I definitely have a blockage somewhere, likely in the core itself.

I'm planning to build a seat to go behind the driver's seat and will be relocating the heater to go underneath this new seat. I guess I'll deal with the blockage when I tackle the seat build.
