    Oxidation Removal

Does anyone have a good suggestion of what to use to remove oxidation? I am doing this by hand. I am using Meguiars Color Restorer right now. It is taking a lot of elbow grease!

I use 3M Marine Fiberglass Restorer and Wax, works great, but it takes great work to get the job done. IMO there is no easy way out to remove oxidation.

I would try and getting an orbital sander as well.. Wakegoddess (who's boat was a featured boat a couple months ago) used mine and the results were fantastic.

I would get one but I don't want to remove the pin stripes or any of the graphics on the boat. They are all in great shape. I got a good amount of it done tonight though.

You may have probably already tried this, but we have very "hard" water with a ton of minerals. I use vinegar or a product called Scrub Free ( in non-chlorine form) to remove the hard water residue which some times appears as though it is oxidation.

            McQ211,
I know what you are referring to. This is oxidation though. I wipe the boat down after every use so there is no build up of waterspots. The boat sat on the lift where the sun really penetrated the gelcoat. It is coming back though!! Gotta love the fact that CC sprays the gel coat so thick.

By your name there, did you order a new 211 or get a 2004?

My new '05 211 TE (vapor blue with black stripe) arrived just before Thanksgiving and has been sitting on the trailer ever since - zero hours other than delivery demonstration (it's killing me). My boat is at the Guadalupe river in central Texas and we've been having fun with a floods and cold weather. I took pictures the day I picked it up, but my better half misplaced them when she downloaded them to the computer. Hopefully this will be the weekend to log some hours and pics.

Congratulations. Would love to see pics of her (the boat) when you get a chance. You will have a blast with the boat. Did you get the boat from HWC?

Thanks. Yes, HWC was the dealer. Hopefully I will have some pics to post on Monday.

Just wanted to report back that the color restorer from Meguiars is working quite nicely. It is amazing how nice these boats look after long periods of time!
