    Center Ballast Pump Out

Hello all. My center ballast pump will not turn on. It is on my 09 210 team. I checked the breakers near the perko and under the dash. Any ideas? do not want to have to pull it out and tow to the dealer if I can help it.

I thought I had a pump go out on my 08 210 but it was the impeller that had burned up. Take the impeller housing cover off and see if the motor shaft is spinning. If it is and the impeller is not then the impeller needs to be replaced. Hope your problem is this easy.

When you get a new impeller, get a couple extras. Takes less than 5 minutes to replace them.

I've replace the impeller in my belly ballast pump. It was very easy to do. I am now going to do the port/starboard pumps before they go out. Just trying to stay ahead of any further issues.

I keep about five of the impeller pumps onboard for emergencies (also keep a tsunami pump onboard). for as expensive as they are you would think that their lifespan would be a bit more but such is life. I typically can change out one in about 5 mins, just depends on the location.

I have never had to replace an impeller. I installed my pumps spring of 2006. Which means I have the old, supposedly, poor quality ones.

I am sure I can this weekend. It is very easy if you have the Jabsco ballast puppy pumps. Just remove the three brass screws on the front of the plate, the plate pops off and the impeller is sitting right there. Pop one impeller out, place the other one in, throw some O-ring grease around the O-ring real, and tighten the plate back down. I can add pics on Friday or Sat if you would like

that would be awesome!!!! thanks a mill!
My buddy is sending his 230 to Asia where he will not have a dealer or mechanic readily available to work on his boat & I know **** need to swap those impellars soon enough. Id like to be able to teach him(as well as myself) & have him view the "how to" with pics. Makes it easier for us "normal folk" with pics.
