My impeller went out last week, changed it out and on the fake lake the temp got to about 160 then dropped to about 120. On the river, it was running about 111 degrees...is this correct? seems really low temp.
with my 2001 SAN with the GT 40, was overheating, changed impeller, was half gone, was still overheating so I changed the thermostat, and now it stays at 160 always, goes to around 190 if i leave it to idle to long with no movement, but who wants to waste gas at these prices!!
replacing the thermostat itself is inexpensive ($15-$20) for the part, $100 for labor at at dealer, but you can do it yourself. only 2 bolts, it's just a B to get them out

???. I don't get it. It should not really go above 160*. If you are hitting 190* at idle, you have an air leak. Tighten your hose clamps with a 5/16 nut driver. At least annually.

I had a mechanic tell me that i need to close the valve on the fake a lake, when i run it in the driveway i tend to just cap the hose and not close the valve. i'll see what happens
