Problem with rudder. Pro Air -99

    Hi guys!
Iīve got some problem with the steering on my Pro Air -99!
I had an issue with my rudder being able to rotate too far in one direction, enough to hit the prop almost. Itīs like a "stop" or something is broken. But how do the "stop" work? It is in the steering-wheel, cable or in the rudder?
When I turn right it is a very logical stop, the cable cant go any feder but when I turn left itīs go out and out and out.. So far out that I canīt turn right , itīs get locked so I have to go back and put the "arm thatīs pushing the rudder" back in the right position.
If I get the rudder free from the cable I can turn it 270grades or something, itīs that right?

I hope you understand my problem I you can help me!

    Philip,

I saw this exact post on CCF. I think you need a new correct cable. If you are unable to adjust it the other way from where you already adjusted it, I suspect you have the wrong cable installed. how long have you had the boat? If the original cable went bad, and it was replaced with a generic cable, that is likely the problem. CC uses/used proprietary cables and you have to get the replacement from them. They have different distance throws on them and will cause this problem.

    Good luck.

The throw of the CC rack and pinion cables is not any different than a generic Teleflex cable. The length of the OEM cable is 19.5 ft but a 20 ft cable works fine.

It's my first summer with the boat but the steering has been working all summer with no problems. But last time I was out I felt something in the wheel when I did a turn and after that I can turn to much to the left. What is it that it's broken with the cable?
