211 Water intakes- Which is which?

Underneath my 2009 211 are a set of brass water intakes/drains. Three are round and flush mounted to the hull, and two are "hooded" or raised. I assume (but don't know for sure) that the raised intakes are for the cooling system (why two?), and the flush intakes are for the ballast tanks. Is that correct?

Is it also true that the flush mounted intakes serve as both intakes and drains for the ballast tanks, depending on which direction the pump is running?

Finally, is there a way to know which intake fills which tank? Thanks.

Assuming you have three ballast tanks, then three of them has to be for the ballast tanks and one is your raw water intake. I think, if Im not mistaken, on my 08 211, my ballast intakes are in a line, all together and the raw water intake is off by itself. Look at the hose that comes off of your water strainer, you should be able to approximate which ones are which. If not, leave a little water in your ballast and pull your boat out of the water. Empty your tanks on the trailer and you'll see immediately which ones are which.
