hey guys new to site, love the wealth of info, anway prob is: on friday launched the boat (1996 sport nautique) and smelled burnt rubber and noticed the temp gauge was maxed out and the warning light was on. Immediately trailored up. saturday carried boat to local nautique dealer and the impeller looked like an A-bomb was dropped on it. the impeller was replaced along with all new belts. the guys hooked their water hose up and let idle for maybe 15 minutes with no probs. so when i get to lake all is great, several people loaded up and was just pulling a tuber and i noticed the temp gauge was hanging out around 175 and when would idle it would immediately overheat >200. i allowed the enging to cool down for several hours and went back out and as long as i didnt idle the temp wld maintain about 170-180.
