2000 SAN hydraulic door lift problems

    Hi,
I'm new to this forum and would appreciate hints on how to service my 2000 SAN hydraulic locker door. It was working fine last time out, but now the door won't open. When I push the button to open it, it makes a clicking noise. Is this something I can fix for do I have to buy a new hydraulic pump or piston?
    Thanks,

    Don

Check inline fuse just before battery. Also follow hydraulic motor power lead to relay and try replacing relay.

I have also had problems with the screws slightly coming out which jams the mechanism. Can you manually open the door?

          2000 SAN hydraulic door

I haven't tried opening the door yet. I plan to drive up to the lake where the boat is and work on it this weekend. If I can't open the door, I will take out the back seat and pop the pin out of the hinge to open it up. I'll check the screws, fuse and relay. Thanks for the tips and I'll let you all know how it goes.

If your actuator ever does give out, try here. They are about an eighth the cost of a Nautique replacement.

Yep, I personally have seen this happen too on a 2000. If it won't manually open, you will have to spend a bit of time with some small tools to try and get the mechanism to allow the hatch to open. Once it is open, then tighten the mechanism down.

The boat it happened on was not my boat, and as such the owner said it simply made the jingly noise back there ad it wouldn't affect anything. That was fine and only annoying until the mechanism backed off so much that the latch would not unlatch and we needed to get stuff out of the locker. I got it, with improvised tools on shore, but it was a PITA.

Bottom line, if the latch is loose, don't deal with the noise thinking it does not affect anything. Tighten it down while you can still open the hatch. It will back off and not open, affecting people then.
