Porter Cable 7424 - Which pads to order?

after searching around here I have decided to order a porter cable 7424 random orbital polisher. What pads do you guys recommend? I have an 07 196 (black and white gel) in good shape so I am using this to maintain, apply wax, polish etc.

I've had excellent results with pads made by Lake Country. I get the 6.5" pads and the velco backing. White with a swirl remover or rubbing compound and black for finishing.

    I get mine from www.autogeek.net.

I don't use the buffer for applying wax, that I do by hand.

I use the 6 inch pads from Meguire's. I get them at an auto body paint store.
Many of the same products and tools you can use for polishing and buffing boats and gelcoat are the same things used with auto paint. Paint on cars is only about .002 to .004 of an inch thick, Gelcoat is easily ten times that. Gelcoat is much more forgiving.
You can probably find the pads and other products at Meguire's.com

How many pads of each do you need for polishing an entire boat?

The pads will last for several years. I've only had to replace one in about 3 years. Just get one of each.
