adapting my current sling lift to use lift rings

i currently have a sling lift for my 20ft searay select ...

it has 2 slings approx 10ft apart ...

if i pick up an sv211 .. i'll need to probably adapt my current lift such that i remove the slings and somehow come up with a system to use the lift rings (shallow water ...won't be able to have a dual runner type lift ... can't use sling with the drive shaft on a direct drive or v drive, hence need to use the lift rings)

Firstly ... is it REALLY safe to do so?? I was supprised that correctcraft acutally recommends this ... is it for real?

So ... anybody have a similar challenge ..any pictures on how to adapt it ...i assume i'll need to get some type of support adapter made?

There are no issues with hanging your CC. They are the only company that recommends hanging the boat with no issues. The boats are hung atleast 3 times before they leave the factory. Can we see some pictures of your current setup so we can make better suggestions?

here are a few not so good pics ... as you can see in the second shot there are 2 yellow straps/slings ... they are seperated by appox. 10 ft

the first shot shows how the pulley up top with the cable leading to a wieght and the ring where the yellow strap is connected.

My dealer actually hangs one by the rings in the showroom and also goes to the show with one hanging by the lifting rins. I have heard of some people hanging theirs in the gargae and pulling the trailer out from under it to clean and wax the entire hull.

The only thing I would do if it was hanging by the rings outside is pull the drain plug so if it was to rain it would not fill with water and possibly damage it, but I would do that with any type of boat lift.

do you have any flexibility on where the cable comes down? (to be able to move it forward or back?) If so, just get rid of the strap and get a hook to replace it.

Looking at your picture you could just loose the back strap and keep the front one. Use the back lift ring with the front strap.

Check the lifting capacity of your current hoist. It might not be rated for the Nautique.
