Upgrade Clarion CMD4A > CMD6

I have a 2007 SAN 210 and I am looking at upgrading the Clarion CMD4A head unit to a Clarion CMD6. Has anyone does this before?

I understand that the wiring is the same for both and that the CMD6 should just plug-in. However I also understand that the Helm and Transom remmotes aren't compatible with the CMD6 and I would have to upgrade the remotes as well to the MW1/2. Has anybody done this conversion before? If so, how difficult is it?

Just did on on a customers boat and it worked fine with the remotes and it plugged right in.

So the CMD6 worked with the CMRC1/2 remotes already installed in the boat?

yes they did. the radio does not work with the older ones like the ones in the 02 models displays only.
