Winterize Ballast Tanks

FYI, for those of you who have the aerator style ballast pumps, don't forget to add some antifreeze to the drain pump. I use a tube that fits inside the ballast drain tube on the outside. I attach a funnel to the tube and pour a little antifreeze to protect the drain pump. I've had a drain pump crack from some water still left in the pump over the winter.

Good reminder. I have always put some AF in the tanks and ran the drain pump until I hear it come out and then I shut it down.
