    misfire

    1st step
took off the distr cap and the metal posts and central l post had lots of corrosion deposits (use boat in salt high humidity) cleaned/ brushed as much off as poss.but im sure the corrossion exists inside the cap also????? took boat out same prob.

    next step
the top of the rotor,(before removing ) visible metal flat round spindle has heavy deposit of brown powder substance?? which wipes off with cloth, however i do not know the state of the rest of the rotor because not sure how to remove it.

Where are the retaining screws, there are the 2 screws visible on the top of the rotor are these the ones (or are these the cmp sensor retaining scres)
does the rotor pull out without disturbing the distributor, otherwise i believe i have to set cam retard.

    ............any ideas welcome tx
