    submerged supersport question?

I am trying to get a spark from my '97 supersport that has been submerged. I was told by someone that I needed to replace the harness and ecm. so I replaced the harness and still no spark. I thought when starting, the distributor was controlling the spark. Am I wrong, should I spend the $600 to see if the ecm is the problem, or does anyone have any ideas??? The coils have power, I don't know how to check the distributor though. And does anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram for this boat. It is not in the manuals section of this site

    Thanks

Check with Vince or Richard at Discount Inboard Marine (803-345-0996). They have a good selection of engine wire diagrams.

pull the plug wire and put a plug in it. Ground the plug to the block and see if there is any fire gitting to them.

If it has power on one side and not the other I would replace the coil and start again. I have seen coils that test good and show fire but it is still not enough to get the job done. Unfortunately you are at the replace and try mode. Before you have to buy anymore big Items on a guess you might want the dealer to look at it. The going labor rate is pretty high these days and tracing down electrical gremlins can get $$$. I will leaned any help I can but I'm no professional.

I'm in the same position as Josh.. No professional, but I managed to "save" some of my own boats... As Josh suggest; replace the coil. And if I may add to that; replace the sparkwires and sparkplugs.. This is not a huge expence and it would for sure eliminate some potential hazards... Expecially since you Nautique has been submerged...
