GT-40 100 Amp Alternator Instructions

Does anyone have a copy of the installation instructions for the gt-40 100 Amp upgrade kit? I ordered the 5.7 kit thinking that the my big chevy was going to be the same, and not so much. My wiring is exactly like the gt-40 and I need to know what wire to hook the green one too on the new plug. Thanks!!!

Why install 100AMP Alternator?

Here's a stupid question maybe... I have a 50 Amp Alt on my 1995 Super Sport GT40. Why is it necessary to upgrade from 50 AMP to 100 AMP Alternator? I want to add a second Battery, but wouldnt the 50 Amp Alt charge the batteries enough or is it really necessary to upgrade to 100AMP? 50 AMP charges 1 battery enough, why not the other?

I am running 2800 watts of stereo and if I have it cranked up I can drain the batteries with just a 55 amp. I could watch the needle going down even with the motor running. I am also running two odyssey 2100 series batteries. The 100 amp is necessary to keep up the batteries with that kind of power.

Going to Order my 100 Amp Alt Tomorrow!

Well, I guess if I plan to have a Sub and nice stereo system, I better get the 100Amp Alt. Looks like a purchase is in my future from Nautiqueparts... $325 and a new deep cycle battery/perko switch,etc. etc... etc.. I think Naut Parts Retro Kit is a good deal? Any thoughts? Thanks guys for the input.

I added it because I've added a stereo, heater, Perfect Pass....etc. You keep adding more and more to the stock system and it can't keep up. I added a second battery with a perko switch and the 100 amp kit. Oh yeah, I also am running a minn kota onboard battery tender. When I get home I plug my boat into an outlet in my garage. It stays plugged in year round and has been this way for years. It works perfect! LINK

Sorry no teasers yet. I want a full unveiling when finished. This one is going to be pretty sweet when I finally do get finished. I have started to reassemble from the original strip job. There is just so much work to do hen you tear one down to nothing.

Unfortunately you have to wait. I am really working hard on this one and personally think it will be way cooler than my other boat. I am taking alot of photos as I go though. I will document all my projects.
