    Fluid Near Drain Plug

    Guru's,
So today I went out to check on the boat (07 SAN TE). I pulled the cover off and everything looked good on the inside so I pulled the seat up and took a look underneath. So I see what appears to be oil near the drain plug. So I put my hand under the transmission and I can feel the liquid under there as well. I checked the oil and it was still full. So I'm assuming that this leak may be transmission fluid??? I haven't ran the boat in about 5 weeks but the last time I did it ran fine. Is there anyway to tell where this leak is coming from without ripping out the entire engine?

Clean and dry the bilge. Take white paper towels, and lay then under the transmission, and V-drive. Go back later, and look for the oil spots. If it leak is severe, you may need only wait an hour. If the leak is minor, you might have to keep checking for a few days, or maybe even a few weeks.
Note the color of the oil, and report back.

      Fluid in bilge

I had a similar issue last year - turns out it was a loose transmission cooler line - we checked all the fittings and tightened, problem solved....! Took 20 minutes and cost $0

Maybe whomever changed the oil last didn't catch it all while removing the oil filter? What color is the fluid? Trans is red (when new)...
