I already see some red flags, and without much more info - it would be hard to recommend something. I know there are Salt water boats that have been taken care of better than fresh water boats, but if an engine is 'blown', I would be cautious at the least, that there are other problems. I lived near, and used a Nautique in salt water for several years, and was very anal about care and cleaning, but salt always seemed to affect many things. \

sorry the engine is seized due to at least one of the risers/ heat exchangers rusting and letting water into the exhaust ports and into the engine. When the ignition code is entered the starter will engage but the engine will not crank. There is no water in the oil and the block does not appear to be cracked. Boat appears to have had some salt water use and shows moderate rust on the risers and block. hope that helps more.

Im assuming you are looking at the orange/black boat on ebay right now? That boat has definately been in salt water. The simple answer to your question is that the ballast system should be ok. The 02 had an aerator pump system in it and you may have to replace pumps/parts depending on corrosion.
If I got that boat I would install a whole new ballast system in it with reversible pumps and fat sacks rather than the hard tanks if you are already going to be doing a bunch of motor work. It could be a good deal for around 10-12k. You could put 10k into it and still have a good deal.

that boat is pretty hammered. In addition to a motor and upholstery figure it needs a new speedo and tach too. I would not even consider buying that boat to fix it up. However if I wanted a boat to run hard or run in salt it might be a great deal. The motor should be less than a $2k fix if you can drive a hard bargain, replace the tach and speedo is another $400. Do that and run the piss out of it. It might be a good ski school boat or lake boat for common use.
