Unless I am missing something, they are not really a dehumidifier. Only a heater.

The only real result result is that where ever yo put them, It will just be warmer, and still humid. And the extra warmth will just help mold and mildew grow faster.

They might be a benefit in below freezing weather. You could have the same results with a string of low watt incandescent Christmas tree lights strung around the engine compartment.

I use them in NorCal, where the temps never get that low, but they do a great job. Plug them in and forget about them, and no issue about a light burning out or breaking. I also think they are hot enough (especially with two or three) that they do help dry out the air in the engine compartment.

They work great! I have one 3 foot rod in my engine compartment and one under my heater and they have kept my boat nice and warm and DRY. No question they are a Dehumidifier and Heater.

I also have one in my Gun safe.
