Need hours of motor

I have a 2001 Air Nautique 216 and the digital gauges have gone out, I'm trying to sell it right now and I need the hours of motor. Is there anyone around Cornelius NC that can hook up to motor and get hours? I keep boat in dry storage at Holiday Marina.

Hours are not stored in the Ford computer. BKH

If it is a Ford motor, probably not. I do not believe they tracked hours in the engines computer.

Perfect Pass kept hours, but may have not been installed when the boat was new. Ask about service records. There may be a record of hours the boat had when it was serviced.

In absence of the service records, and Perfect Pass, go on the condition of the boat. Upholstery wear will approximate the hours on the boat. Compare the carpet in high traffic area to carpet where nobody walks. How does the steering feel?

I have over 2308 hours on my 1997 Ski Nautique. To be honest the upholstery needs some TLC, or replacement, but the engine is running really good.

My opinion, a boat with a moderate to higher amount of hours on it probably will be in better shape, mechanically, than a boat that got maybe 10 or 15 hours of use a year, and just sat for long periods of time.

With the GT40 in it you are out of luck. Hours are not stored on the ECM.

As a friend of mine expereinced when trying to purchase a 2000 SN those LCD gauges cause a real problem verifying hours when they check out.
