    Painting Ballast Thru Hulls

I was wondering if anyone has painted their thru hulls to match the gel coat? I am considering doing it and I assume a thorough sanding, plastic primer, and automotive paint would work(rattle can). Also it appears to have sealant around the penetration, should I replace with 5200?

Boat is a black 2001 SAN

    Thanks!

paint will not last that long
automotive paint will not last in a marine environment
best it to get them polished for looks
        yes 5200 under the waterline
the 4000 stuff will work also
