    Teleflex gauges question

For those of you who have converted the teleflex gauges to the analogs, I have a few questions.

    1. Was it easy to do? Are they plug and play, or do they come with good and easy to follow directions? Or, is this something best left to a professional?

    2. If one were to add perfect pass, would you recommend putting it in the middle between the two new analog gauges?

    3. Finally, if one adds perfect pass, is it even worth adding the faria gauges?

After reading the PDF, it sounds moderately complicated, but nothing that I could not tackle. Thanks again WakeFun.

I guess adding the gauges will give me a nice visible tach. I can't recall whether you get simultaneous RPM readout on a 4-line Perfect Pass display, but even if one does, it is not as in your face obvious as on these big analog gauges.

Not to bad of an install. Just measure the paddle wheel hole several times before you drill the 2" thru your hull. I used magnets to check location.

                    Chexi,

Its easy to do. I did mine about 3 months ago in about an hour. Does your SAN have perfect pass?

No, it does not have perfect pass... yet. I'm going to rip my PP Wakeboard Pro out of my 96 Tige and put it in the SAN. I found a place that sells a GPS module that integrates with PP and will allow me not to have to drill the hole. I ordered the Faria kit for no PP just in case, plus the cable that comes with the "with PP" kit. Either way, I should be covered. I won't get the water temp feature without the paddlewheel, but I'm going to install a separate temp/depth sounder system anyway.

One of these days, we are going to have to meet Brad. Every time I come to Ski N Sports, it seems we just miss each other. I really would like to check out your Python.

I was over there on Saturday and finally got to see Brad's Python. I asked him why it was that the guys who had this engine never posted pictures of it on the web. Suffice it to say, it looks nice.

It is extremely easy. Took me less than 30 minutes, however since I have the GPS based perfect pass I only installed the tach with the hourmeter. I used the other 5" hole to place a remote for my stereo (it has all the info from my iPod on the screen). Works great. The GPS setting on the perfect pass is plenty for me as far knowing the speed.
