Water in the bow

I can't figure out where it is coming from? I have plugged the drain. NO water is coming over the bow.

I have put a towel down across the carpet under the cushion. It appears that the water is coming from under the walk way but I have no idea what ties into there or how water could get to there from the underneath.

Thoughts???

The vent on the port side below the windshield, where does this go?

Boat is an 04 210.

I think that vent is the glove box drain. There's a small grate under the bow cushion that leads to the bilge.

A friend of mine's 04 SV211 did this. A fitting on his ballast tank had cracked. May be worth inspecting. Perhaps you can get a mirror or something in a position that you can see them. He did not realize this was the problem until he was installing a bag system.

Could be coming through the rub rail. How much water are we talking about?

Just enough to soak a towel or if no towel get the carpet very wet.

Slayer.,.. Are there any tank fitting other than the ones I can see?

Gride... That drain is plugged under the cushion in the very front.

I had a similar issue...towels/clothes getting wet under the observers seat, but not huge amounts of water and it was very difficult to know where it was coming from. I had the rubrail pulled and and the hull/deck seam sealed under warranty a couple of months ago. So far, no problems....I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The other day I had some water under the observer seat. Obviously, pretty frustrating given that I had the rubrail sealed (warranty).

A friend and I spent a bit of time looking for the source and determined it was coming in through the docking lights. It was difficult to determine this because the water was coming in and traveling under the carpet down to the lip of the chine on the inside of the hull. It then traveled aft, hidden under the carpet, until it soaked through the carpet under the observer seat. We couldn't tell the source of the water visually--we found it by pressing the carpet tight to the hull and trying to follow the water path by feel.

I pulled the docking lights and it was obvious that water could enter at this point because the gasket is not thick enough to create a seal between the curved hull and the flat light assembly. I set the lights in some bedding compound and hope my water mystery is finally solved.

I'm guessing any Nautique with docking lights is susceptible to this problem if you have a bunch of weight in the bow....passengers or ballast. The day the water appeared (after months of no problem) was a day I had extra people in the boat and one of the larger guys spent the day riding in the bow.

Hopefully this will help a few other frustrated souls!
