    reprogramming codes

hi guys, just imported a 2004 nautique 216 le to australia. I contacted the boat sales business i bought it from and he gave me the master code only. I've tried everything " AIR TOOL " listed in his post in 2008 but without success

I can now only assume the code they gave is wrong or not? HELP!!!!!

First try starting the code without using a code at all. IIRC...if NO primary code is programmed, you don't need to type a code at all. Just press start.

There is also a procedure to clear the primary and secondary codes by using the master code. Do that procedure and see if the codes clear. Then just press start to see what happens. It should come on.

If the latter procedure doesn't clear the codes, maybe the dealer gave you the programmed primary code. You could follow the procedure to set a secondary code and see what happens.

Another trick is to carefully unplug the keypad and let it rest for a minute. Then plug it back in and try all the same biz.

If none of this works, you have a bad keypad or some bad buttons. (watch the red light as you depress buttons to see if each button is working.)

Note - I had a pad that would start the boat using the master code (so a primary code was set) but I could not clear the codes or program new ones. CC replaced the pad under warranty. They sent me one in a box and I sent mine back in the same box.

Sorry 'bout the possible run on sentances...I got other things I should be doing.

Does it hurt anything to use the keypad with no programmed code?

It is a safety and security risk...the jury might say.

          keypad

just had a thought, if a # is 0, do you press the 9/0 pad twice to access the #0 or do you do something else

well, you have a button that has 2 numbers on it, if you push the 9/0 button, how does it know whether its 9 or 0 you're entering or do you push the button either on the front or back, I'm at work so I can't actually try anything at the moment

A rose by any other name is still a rose.

A button with two numbers is still the same button.

The buttons just as well be labeled 1 2 3 4 5, but then you couldn't use your birthday as the code if you were born on June 6, 1966.
