Are your gas tanks only 18 gal. I have an 01 air and I swear I only have an 18 gal tank. My gas gauge sucks so when it is on empty or near, the boat usually only takes 15-16 gal max at fill up. Is my tank bigger than I think?

I was going to post a new topic but didn't want to get the usual "do a search on here" response. So I did a search and came across this thread with two guys that appear to have the same boat as me. I saw it was 4 yo but I thought someone would answer.
So is it common for these gas gauges to be that off? My needle was just above E and it took 16 gal to fill, I do not fill all the way, I stop when I hear the gurgle from the vent. I tried my hour meter but I use it for so many diff. activities that I'm not sure where to go from here. I doubt I want to run it out probably not good for the injectors.
Maybe I'll get some kind of cool member status now.......

Try looking at your gas tank when it says E. You will be able to see the fuel level. Your sender sounds like it is bent or bad.the WakeSlayer

Thanks fellas, I'll try to get at it when it reads E and look. I think I might change my name to "THREADSAVER"
Appreciate the help, I cant tell you how much money this site has saved me since I joined. I learn something new every time I'm on. I am not afraid to tear into something instead of taking it an hour to the CC dealer for something that takes 30 min and $15 to fix myself!!
