Removing Bow Cooler in 04 SAN

I've decided to plumb in a bow sac under the seats of my 04 SAN.
Thought it wouldn't be a problem but the useless cooler under the starboard bow seat is fiberglassed in. Basically, the fiberglass deck the cushions sit on and the cooler underneath the starboard side is all one piece, (blocking the area for that leg of the sac).

Anyone have experience with removing this? Thinking about just cutting it out with a rotozip.

Yep I cut mine out 2 years ago. Bets thing I did for ballast. The cooler is not the hard part. It's getting all the foam out of there fist full at a time. Gonna take a while but well worth it.

Cool, good to hear the positive reinforcement.

Here's my plan: Pull the carpet down, cut the fiberglass up around the deck, cut and glue the carpet back down over the leftover lip. That's what you did?

Not sure what foam your talking about but I guess I'll find out.

I plan on doing this same modification to my 04 SANTE. Could you post a couple pics of the job along the way? I would really like to see the process.
        Thx

Not sure if it's the same (no foam), but I removed mine on an 02 SAN. It was a slight pita but I took my time and removed every last bit.

I'm doing it next weekend (4/16) hopefully.

Will take pics and detail the process on this thread.

Go to Harbor Freight and pick up a cheap "variable speed oscillating multifunctional power tool" for $50. It will make your life much more simple regardless if there is foam or not. Be sure to place a board to block off the sharp edges of the heater casing or you may tear a ballast bag before you realize it. I took a piece of plywood and covered in resin before placing it in and matching the carpet.
