5200 or 4200 on Thru Hull?

So is it better to use 4200 or 5200 on a 1" Mushroom thru-hull fitting?
I would think 4200 so its not Permanent... Thoughts?

I am also installing a Protection plate around the rudder to prevent the prop wash from eating away the gel coat around the rudder.... it screws on with 6 screws, but should I also use some 4200 there too?

    5200

I would use 5200. Why would you ever want to remove a through hull fitting? For the rudder plate you could use either. I don't know what changes the plate will make to the wake.

      Thanks Rick.

Yeah, I was just thinking if I ever needed to replace the thru - hull?? something bigger, scoop, etc.. If I screw up the threads inside the boat..I dont like things too permanent.

The Plate is only for protecting the gel coat around the rudder plate. I have seen it on some older Nauts on here. It was recommended to me by the dealer, because the prop wash tends to eat away some of the gel coat around the rudder plate area. This plate only protects the gel coat, it has zero bearing on wake or anything once it is installed flat on the bottom. Thanks.
