    Heater connection to Excalibur motor

I am about to install a new heater in my '04 SANTE with the 330 Excalibur and was wondering if anyone had pictures of where they connected the hot water source and return lines to this motor. I believe it would be the same for any of the GM / Excalibur motors, so any pics for any of the GM motor connections would be appreciated.

I do plan on using the Y connector for the return line to hopefully get more heat, but would like to see any connections anyone has used.

    Thanks

I can take a picture for you when I'm on my boat this weekend if no one answers you before then. I have the same motor.

Do you still need this? I'll be at my boat either tomorrow or Sunday. Let me know if you need me to snap a picture.

Not being a mechanic, I don't know what the part is called, but I installed a heater in my '07 Excal. The hot water hose connects to a port on the starboard top side of the motor. You'll need to pull of the shroud to see it, but there's a hex bolt on the starboard side of the thing (sorry for that term) where all the hoses connect to on top of the motor. Remove it, and screw in the hose connector that came with the heater kit. I aslo installed the Y at the raw water intake, and it made a nice difference at low rpm's. I know I have some pics of the job somewhere, I just need to find them. The hardest part is running the hoses under the floor. That part sucks!

shonuff, yes, I would like to see some pics. I would appreciate it if you could snap a picture or two for me.

swc5150, thanks for the description, I will take a look and see what I can figure out.

I'm planning to do the install tomorrow or Sunday, figure I can get everything else done first, then figure out exactly where to hook up to the motor. I'm just want to make sure I don't do something really stupid, like dump watter onto the valves. I think I know better, but it's always nice to see what others have done.

This is an 05' Excalibur, ordered with the heater so I would guess it was factory installed.

Scott, where did you use the Y fitting?

Thanks for the pictures Quinner. Good to see where a factory set up is connected.

This is where I ordered my Y adapter from:

Thanks guys, think I'm stopping for the day for dinner. Got a good bit of the way done, just have to find the factory wires to connect the heater to, and then connect the water lines to the motor.

I did have to pull up the floor to run the second water line. The first one I managed to push over the gas tank, but the second one kept hanging up.

                    Quinner,

This is where I installed the Y, took her out tonight to test the new install and all seams to work well. I have heat, and it stays fairly warm even when idling for a long period of time. I hit the raw water line between the raw water strainer and the raw water pump. The line between the intake and the raw water strainer was to small for the Y fitting.
