    Which wax do you use?

    Which wax do you use?

I see many ppl suggesting Collinite's No. 885 Special Heavy Duty Fleetwax on other websites...

I do use Collinite's No. 915 Marque D'Elegance for my cars.

If I keep my boat during all summer in the water is the wax enough or I have to put chemicals on my hull?

Leaving a boat in the water

Leaving your boat in the water for an extended period of time is one of the worst things you can do for a boat. Under a microscope gel coat is porous, thus allowing water molecules to enter and hopefully leave. Older gels had a much more porous structure thus more water travel. Newer gels are have a smaller structure which reduces the ability of water to leave if it has entered. Over time and especially if your area sees large temperature swings (nothern climates), you will end up with blisters. Adding to the potential of blisters is the use of a pressure washer and hull cleaners that contain an acid (very bad). If you are stubborn and want to leave your boat in the water, paint the bottom.
Best advice, you spent the money on a top of the line boat, GET A LIFT.

I use Meguires Flagship premium marine wax. It works great easy on easy off.

I use Zaino All in one. It's easy and lasts longer than Wax.

+1 for Meguire's Flagship wax. I use 3M products for cutting/polishing, then add a good coat of Meguire's wax to protect.

+1 for Meguire's Flagship wax. I've also had good luck with their vinyl protectant... a littly shiny at first but quickly absorbs and kept the vinyl in my 06 in great shape...

                          what I used

Last year I used Collinte's Fleetwax on the bottom and sides of my new boat.
I found alot of good posts on this product. I spoke to the manufacture and they recommend doing
a small area at a time. While I did not listen very well. Once that stuff drys it is very hard to get off.
They do make another wax that is easier to remove but will not last as long. For my new boat this
year Im going with Meguire's Flagship wax. They make a great product and I always use there vinyl/rubber
cleaner conditioner 57 on the seats. I
f you don't have a boat lift then I feel you will find alot of differences in the types of waxes. However with with a boat lift any good quality wax will do a great job and last.
