Bearing install question

Secondly, it does not come with a new flat washer. When I uninstalled my hubs it went castle nut, d ring washer, washer, bearing on front d shaped spindles, but castle nut w cotter pin, flat washer, bearing on rear circular spindles. Is the flat washer simply not needed on front bc of d ring or should I still use flat washer? If so, do you think white lake will have all that stuff? West marine didn't have the right kits.

So I did one hub today to make sure I could do it and west marine did have the right bearing kit. It was a pain to perfectly install the races, then pack the bearings in my palm, and pump grease into it and spin the drum and install grease cap. Basically the way you do it. I think the next one will go easier. Man gen y kids like myself are bums. I'm 26 and owned boats for about 6 years and always paid to have it done. No longer.

next time any auto parts store should have the parts. There should be only one washer, the "d" washer that you speak of. As far as the races go, just pound them out with a screw driver.

Just be sure you are using marine grease and not normal bearing grease. Both will work however the normal bearing grease will break down super fast and you will have to pack your axles far more often.

Well, blew out a rear seal over greasing a hub. So fun cleaning brakes and replacing seals.
