Ok, I have a 93' Ski Nautique and I supposedly have a cracked muffler that is leaking water like crazy. I have not seen this yet. I just took the boat in for a bunch of maintenance and the tested it today. They but the boat in the water (leaving it on the trailer) and started it. I was told that the muffler was leaking like crazy and filling the boat up fast at even an idle. What are the chances that they didn't put the plug in my boat? Anyways, lets say the muffler is cracked (which at the end of last year and when I winterized it I didn't have this problem), how hard are they to repair since they are fiberglass. I can't imagine that tough. I am expierenced with fiberglass too. Are they worth repairing or just getting new one (and the baffles are loose). To replace it the shop is saying $580. Does anyone know of a good place to buy from with good prices?

They can usually be patched, depending on where and how badly it is damaged. Sounds like you probably have the skills to do it yourself.
Here's a link to the new part. The price for just the part is over $600, so if you can repair yours, do it. Otherwise, it sounds like the price you were quoted for replacement is not too bad, especially if labor is included.

Thanks for the reply. This may sound like a crazy question but what do you mean when you say it depends on where and how bad. I have been doing fiberglass for a long time and done total fiberglass resterations so I don't think that will be an issue but is there certain areas of a muffler that repairs cannot be done to for a certain reason? Also thank you very much about the 10% off information.

Hi I used to have a 94 mastercraft prostar 190 that part of the muffler broke off inside and blocked the end of the muffler so no water could go out the back of the boat. I wasn't prepared to pay the huge price so I simply cut it in half and removed the offending piece and fiberglassed it back together and patched all around the cut several times. Worked great and never had a problem with it again. Hope this helps. If you say its leaking then you have nothing to lose by trying to repair it. Good luck

93 Sport Muffler Fix
I agree that you should be able to fix yours given your fiberglass experience. Mine was poorly fixed by the previous owner, without removing it from the boat. Needless to say, it was a mess. Be patient while removing it as it is probably pretty stuck to the rubber hoses. I actually removed the top of each exhaust manifold and then only had to deal with the single exhaust pipe. Once in the shop, I could carefully remove the hoses.
The structure is pretty thick, so you can easily sand and clean up any areas and re-glass them as needed. I was able to also pour some resin inside the unit to provide some backside support as well.
Good luck!1993 Sport Nautique
