The problem ended up being a broken fitting on the water strainer sucking air, decreasing the vacuum from the intake. The problem I was having with the fake-a-lake was the water pressure was not strong enough to prime the raw water pump, so my mechanic had me increase the RPMs to prime. Once I did that and primed the pump, it ran fine. With the intake being submersed in the lake (per my mechanic), there shouldnt be a problem. Hopefully!!!

It is about a flushing adapter I made, that hooks up to the raw water intake hose, in the bottom of the boat. It will also draw water out of a bucket.
With my adapter, you can pressurize the hoses, strainer, oil cooler, and other stuff in between the raw water pump, and where you hook the flushing adapter to the system, near the water intake in the bottom of the boat.
This makes it really easy to find any leaks that would suck air, in the suction side of the raw water pump.
