    Keypad on 2000 air nautique

Does anyone know what the green and orange wires on the keypad go to and what the voltage is suppose to be. I have 12vdc coming into the keypad on the black and red wires, but nothing on the green and only 4vdc on the orange. I have no power to the dash or anything else and am trying to figure out if the keypad is bad.

    Digital Keypad.

As the keypad is Digital. it has the Black and red wire for 12V and the Green and Orange one is for the signals.

Disconnect the Keypad. and connect your voltmeter to the green and orange wire (cant remember on what Setting) and start pressing keys. If you get signal the pressed key is ok. if not, well that particular key is not working.

    another simpler test is.

Leave the keypad in the boat.

If the start button is NOT pressed the only thing normally working is the bilge pump. and you will get a green light, for the pump ( you can turn the pump on/off Without the master switch being on, for obvious reasons)

but if you press any other key (Not the start button) it should light up the back light of the two keypads. (red back light) Aldo the keys function is not coming on (because the master is off) . if the back light does not come on when one particular key is pressed, then it has no connection, to that key.

    Hope it helps.

That helps alot I appreciate all the help. When I turn the battery switch on it sounds like the bilge pump in the rear of the boat comes on, and when I enter my code and press start I get the two green lights to come on but no power to anything else. I will try what you suggested and see what happens, thank you.

        green lights

If the two green lights come on then you have it in IGN mode, and you are only missing the starter.

This is the sequence you need. ( the sequence for the code is by memory, as the code is not active on my boat, i have a hidden home made switch with a key instead, due to the boat getting a new breaker box, and i cant get the code to work with my boat)

        Power / battery is connected.

        1. you can only turn on the bilge pump.

        2. press start once and you have turned on the master and the boat is powered. ( on green light ) and you can turn on all accessories (perfect pass, lights etc )

        3. Enter code ( if active ) you only need to do this one time ( enter code again to lock the boat) if you forget to lock it does so automatically after a set time of no activity

        4. press the start button a second time and IGN is on ( you can hear the fuel pump humming for about a second) and the second green light comes on. and all instruments come alive. Tach, speed, olie, voltmeter temp etc.

5: press start a third time to engage starter motor ( keep it down until the engine is running )

if you have no power to the entire dash i would look for ground wires etc. donīt just visually check them, but disconnect them and clean them ( a lot of corrosion can sit between the ground and wire)

the wire-ring diagram is your friend, you can find it in the library on this page.

I'm SURE you have thought about this but we had our 2000 sport shipped, through a monsoon I think...

When we got it, it took a week for it to dry out enough for the keypad to work properly. Now the digital gauges don't work so we had to put the analog Faria replacements in.

You're not the only one with troubles! Good luck!
