    Keypad Issues?

I have an 01 SAN. Tried to start my boat for first time this season but could not get keypad to work. I checked battery connections and all is good there. The bilge fan and pump work, and the horn works. When I touch a button on the dash, the console lights up so I'm getting power to it. All the breakers are fine. When I depress the keypad, the green light in the lower left of the keypad illuminates except when I touch #4 which unfortunately is part of my code to start!

    Any pointers?

Try the orriginal factory code. If it does not contain a 4, you might be in luck. With it you can change the code to what ever you like.

    Good luck

I bought the boat used. I am not sure I have this code. Is there any way to find out what the factory code is - other than calling Nautique?

Your local Nautique dealer can get this for you. I didn't know my code either so my dealer jumped on the web and had it for me in 2 minutes flat!

Same problem. and what was wrong

had the same problem with a SN 2000. it turned out it was a bad soldering on the print in the keypad

try to take all power off.

Normally when you press any key other than the start button. the Backlight should come on at all keypad on the keypads. ( Red Background Light on my boat)

On mine, the 4 key and the start button was not functional.

If NO backlight comes on when you press the 4 button, there is no connection. And you need a new Keypad. Unless there is no guaranty. then you could try to fix it as it is a rather expensive part.

Also try to disconnect the keypad and measure if any signal is comming true when you press the ”4” key

Fortunately for me i had just replaced the original keypad last year, with a brand new one. So my local Nautique dealer gave me a new one on the guaranty.

I had similar problems but with the accessory keypad. Certain buttons not working. Removed keypad, removed rubber pad from the circuit board. Sprayed circuit board with electrical switch cleaner and re fitted the pad. All keys now working. May not work with yours but definitely worth a shot if you got no warranty
