Had the boat out yesterday for the fisrt time this year. Had two minor issues. 1-batteries are toast (took a jump box out with me), 2-temp guage was going up a little. When I saw the temp guage start to rise I stopped and started looking into things. First I thought it might be the impellar that I had just routinely changed. The temp guage never went over 175 but it got there quickly. So then I decided to check and make sure my gasket was in the water strainer cup, and it wasn't. My question is: is the gasket they use in there an O-ring style gasket, D-ring, or a flat gasket? I saw that White lake sells the gasket but if I could use an O-ring then there is a good chance I have one at work that I could get. Thanks

I am 100% sure it is flat. I just had this issue two weeks ago. Naturally, while installing the replacement, I found the "lost" one. My temp got over 200 briefly. Ran long enough dry to shred my impeller.the WakeSlayer

Well okay then. Listen to them... I haven't seen mine in a year, as my strainer has been clean and not caused me any problems. Now
