    Keypad Replacement

Changing out keypad on my 2001 SAN. When you order a new keypad, do you use the same code after re-installing the new one as you used on the old one? Or do you have to revert to the master code, or???

My thought on this is always use the master code as the primary because if you ever sell the boat, they can call CC and get the original master code for th boat. You can always program a sub code. That is how I handled it in my boat when my keypad was replaced.

Well sure enough it was my keypad. If anyone ever needs a used keypad AND your code doesn't use the #4, then let me know. I'll sell you my used one. It'll be better than having to drop $400 on a new one!

Lesson Learned to all Planet Nautique Members: Make sure your secondary code uses different digits than your Master Code so if a digit stops working, you can still start your boat..... Would have saved me $400, time troubleshooting and a loss of a week on the water!

Is the code stored in the key pad or in the box under the dash? I just order a new keypad this weekend. I was under the impression that the code was stored in the computer under the dash. I am hoping the code I always use will continue to work cause I do not have the “master”.
