Ran for 100 yds, stumbled, and died

First time out this summer. 2000 Sport Nautique with GT-40. Boat has sat in garage for 9 months with half tank of fuel. It idled to temperature, than ran for 100 yards, than fell on its face, stumbled trying to run, and then died. I could not restart. Fuel problem? It has less than 40 hours on the engine. I changed the fuel filter last summer. Any help appreciated. Rick

The same thing just happened to me on my first run out of the season. It was the low pressure fuel pump.

Also had a similar issue, try adding some fresh fuel, that 9 month old gas could be your problem, that seemed to solve my issue.

Power up the keypad, press start (don't crank the engine) and listen for the low pressure pump to cycle. If it does not, your problem is more than likely the low pressure fuel pump.

Fuel Pumps turn on

I think I may have debris in a screen or fuel filter. I read a thread that stated there is screen at the fuel tank, and another at the fuel pump. Can someone confirm this and give me some detail of where to look for these. I plan to clean the screens/replace the fuel filter next weekend, put fresh gas in, and give it another try at the lake before taking it to the dealer ($$$$). Thanks for the help. Rick.
