all valid gripes in my estimation its a real pisser when you go out on a limb and extend someone the benefit of the doubt, just for them to stick it to you just like you knew they would. trust me i can relate, i have done it countless times ...

Replaced the paddle wheel WB Pro version to Stargazer WB Pro on my 02 SAN. The difference was night and day, and would do it again it a heartbeat. As I recall, I just needed to replace the control module under the dash & add the GPS receiver as I already had the multiline display. The paddlewheel remained and is plugged into the new control module but it's my understanding it does nothing but water temperature. The surging was noticeably reduced .

problem is i could only sell the dash display and the pp module as i would still need the servo motor and the paddle wheel, compounded by the fact that the stargazer and new display run 700 bones ... if he can get away with only those components let me know

Well, I got my boat back Saturday morning, installed PP and the nauticlaugic system and tested it out. However, because I am a bonehead and forgot that Cary at Nauticlaugic told me when I bought my unit that it mistakenly shipped with the test jumper in, when my unit cycled through various speeds with no correlation to my actual speed, I assumed it was faulty. It was not until I got back from the trip that I emailed Cary, who emailed me back about 20 minutes later with the answer (i.e., the test jumper was in place and needed to be removed). So if you buy this system and the speed is cyling from 0 to something in the 40's over and over again... it's the test jumper, and you will need to take out 4 screws and remove it (takes about 30 seconds with a small phillips head screwdriver). Props to Cary for getting back to me so quickly (every time I have emailed him). I should have emailed him from the boat on Saturday. At any rate, I won't have a real test and review of the system until next weekend, thanks to me being a dip sh!t.

Okay, so I was finally able to test out the nauticlaugic system. I started the boat and by the time I loaded my passengers and had turned the boat around and was ready to get going the gps had synced and was ready to go. With the test jumper out, it worked very well. I did not have my portable GPS with me to check the speed against anything else (and my speedo is not yet installed). It seemed to read a little fast, but it was windy and choppy, and those conditions can make things seem faster than they are. I will say that it held speed well, within 0.3 mph in the chop, and I noticed no surging. I ran it at wakesurfing and wakeboarding speeds. I did not feel like going to ski or footing speeds, as there was a lot of chop, and my lake is way low, so I didn't want to run aground or into something at 35-45 mph.

Note, I did not load up with ballast and I did not pull anyone, so there is still more testing to do. Preliminarily however, it seems like a winner to me. I'm happy so far.

Used the nauticlaugic system on Saturday with great success. We did only surf (no wakeboarding), but it held speed very well at surfing speeds with 1250 lbs of ballast, 3 people in the boat, and a full cooler. I have zero complaints with it so far. Sync times are very quick (I have the non-Garmin reciever).

I do wish I could get my random stalling problem fixed, but that has nothing to do with the nauticlaugic system.
