    Keypad Bypass??

Hi everyone. Been out on my boat this weekned and boat has been great. But today we had alot of rain and when i came to get the boat of the water she started up fine from the start button on the keypad. (It was still powered up as i had not shut it all down). Put the boat on the trailer and nothing happened when i pressed the stop button. Tried all sorts and in the end i pulled the kill switch. Then tried to get it going again and seem to have lost all power to the keypad. Would all the rain have caused this? Is there anything else i can check for?
Also looking at putting in a bypass keyswitch. I have done a search on here and have found several threads but nothing really solid to tell me how to go about it.
I have got the wiring diagrams from here but cant work out which would be my ignition on to put power to my clocks etc and which would be the starter?

If anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it.

    Many thanks

    James

There is a post on the new pads / chevy's. For yours it is possible but you might be the first.

Thanks, I have searched the forum but to no avail. Think problem may be toggle switch as stated in others posts. Just thought that someone could point me in the right direction of which wires i need to wire an ignition key switch up to. I do want to be able to power my dash up as well as the starter though.

        Cheers

Thanks AirTool. To be honest i had read that post but thought it would not power up my dash etc. But DWSA does say the purple wire for ignition so i presume that will power my dash. I was mistaken as the reply by Keng says the purple/white wire would not power the dash. My bad. Will put one on this weekend and give it a try.

            Thanks

Been down to the boat today and the keypad is working so il put it down to the rain getting at it. Am still going to bypass it with a key switch just to be on the safe side.
              Thanks
