The starter died in my boat last fall, I changed it out and the relay in a rush due to bad weather. Must have goofed something up though. The ignition light goes on as soon as I connect the battery regardless of weather the ignition switch or ignition fuse is on. The motor starts but then won't turn off because the ignition stays on. I paid attention to make sure the wires were right on double checked with a wiring diagram. This has me stumped. Please help if you have any idea of what to check for.
