    '08 SANTE 210 w/ 343 motor cutting in / out

Would anyone know why all of a sudden our 210 w/ the 343 motor would all of a sudden start to cut in and out? Example....
Saturday about 1pm we took off for a little ride and everything went well. We parked in the cove for a few hours and then went back in. During the ride back in, during heavy chop in the water due to high winds, she started to caugh. From running 22 or 23 mph, it would die to 10 or so and then just rev right back up to normal speed. It did this for the better part of 5 minutes.

Sunday, same thing. Rode out to the cove just fine and then on the way back, started to cut in and out again (not really choppy water this time).

A few weeks ago it cut in and out and I didn't think anything about it. We've since rode around a good bit, even burned a tank Friday shredding.

Could this be water in the fuel or does it sound like a sensor?

Add: In line fuel filter changed before season along with motor oil and tranny lube add. Maybe 10 hours on those items.

Mine did that this weekend too, and I am 99% sure its water in the fuel. I think the chop had the fuel sloshing around and probably picked some up. I am going to add some HEET to the tank and see if it will dissipate. You might want to try that too.

Any update bchesley? HEET didn't fix mine, we are not thinking it is something kind of check valve or screen clogging fuel.

Ours only does it when it's low on fuel... so it is strange.

Not sure if this is your problem but I had a similar situation with my 02 Mastercraft when I had it. The problem was from plastic shavings in the fuel tank. On that paticular boat it had an in-tank fuel pump. When the gas tank had the holes cut in it from the manufacturer they did not clean out the plastic shavings and some of the shavings ended up in the fuel system causing my problem. My dealer said he had seen the problem before and we pulled the tank, drained the fuel, and cleaned the tank out. I can't remember if we had to change the fuel pump or not but it fixed my problem. It only happened when we were low on fuel. You might have something similar going on if there are particals in the tank that are floating on top of the fuel. It could also be the reason you only have the problem when it is low on fuel.

Sorry, I am not much more help. Heet fixed mine, but I added three bottles of it to make sure. Unless you had a major amount of water, then I am not sure what it could be. Weird though that it happens in rough water.
