    Nautique Engine just dies

The boat is a 1987 2001 with a Ford 351. The boat will run all day as long it is up on plane and moving. but as soon as you bring the boat back down to idle speed, it may run fine for 10min and then start missing and die.
At this point you can look down in the carb while working the throttle and see gas shooting in from the accelerator pump but the engine will not fire. Thinking it might be flooded, I can hold the throttle wide open and it will still not fire. Only way it will re-start is let the engine sit for about 30min and it will start like nothing was ever wrong.
Engine has New plugs wires plugs, distributor, fuel pump, fuel filter.
Anyone have any idea what could be going on.

    Thanks

Compression, ignition, fuel. It is one of those three. Just a guess, from your symptoms, I would suspect the ignition system.
This is how I check the spark on a GT-40 Ford engine.

if it is a point style ignition replace the condensor, also point or Electronic ignition verify the dwell if points and timing are set correctly.

        Thanks

Going Back out tomorrow and do some more testing. Seems to me that it could be in the ignition.
Once it shuts down I will pull the coil wire off to see if it has spark. Again guys, thanks for the suggestions.
