windshield screws stripping the fiberglass...what adhesive to use?

    as the title states...

my windshield (96 super sport) is pulling away from the fiberglass due to the screws stripping that secure it stripping out the fiberglass.

    what is the best fix?

Go to West Marine and get a small set of West Systems Epoxy 105/205. Get some adhesive filler (I forget the number). Mix the epoxy together, then add the filler until it is the consistency of peanut butter and fill the holes. Re-drill them, and put your screws back in. West Systems is the greatest. You will love it.

Wakeslayer has the right idea especially for high-stress areas. But, on that note, if you're at home and need a quick/temporary fix for stripped threads in fiberglass, you can push in a plastic wall anchor like this:

      http://www.amazon.com/Ribbed-Plastic...8576894&sr=8-5

then screw in your screw. I just did it on a screw that holds down the center-floor-section on my boat. I imagine I'll do a real fix later, but this was quick/easy for a low-stress location.
