Ballast system Help Please

We have a 2003 Super Air Nautique, there are two tanks in the back that came stock, to fill them you use two knobs behind the driver seat and a empty or fill button on the dash. I am trying to make sure im doing this the right way. Each time we take the boat out one of the gauges says full and the other one says empty. Which way do I turn these knobs and when? Anything else I need to do? We just got the boat back from being serviced and they claimed they fixed the ballast.

I dont mind filling them all the way up, I just need to know the correct way to do it. turn the knobs counter clockwise? or what

Ha, I always forget too. I think counterclockwise is open and clockwise is closed, but I just turn them so there is play either way. That way I know they are open. These knobs open air vents, which will allow the incoming water to displace the air, thus filling up the tanks.

Hmm... are you sure you have a 2003? I though the 2003 were under the dash and labeled.

yeah, never seen the valve handles / knobs behind the driver seat ... did you mean under the dash? the ones under the dash should be labeled open and closed. then, you probably have two long handles at the front of the engine compartment that open and close brass valves down at the thru hull, spin them left for open

my bad its an 01, anyone know anything specific on the 01?
